About Dr. Anarela Barrios
Dr. Barrios is a licensed Optometrist in Canada, certified through the University of Waterloo School of Optometry. Born in Venezuela, she originally trained as a medical doctor and ophthalmologist at the Central University of Venezuela. After 13 years of private practice in Caracas, she moved with her family to Canada, and they now call Oakville home.
Patient care is at the heart of her work. She takes time to listen, answer questions, and explain eye health clearly and comfortingly. With her ophthalmology background, she has experience supporting patients with medical and surgical eye conditions, with a special focus on children, including amblyopia, strabismus, and other developmental eye concerns.
Dr. Barrios has been married for over 33 years and is the mother of two daughters, whose performances as sopranos she loves to cheer on. She is an active volunteer in her parish community in Oakville.
"Vision is precious at every age. From a child's first eye exam to managing age-related conditions, I am committed to providing compassionate care that respects each patient's unique journey."
